The 2010 Fair will be here before we know it. Please announce the following information at your monthly club/chapter meetings to the exhibitors and their parents. Also, the website is up and going again. Please remind your members to access the website for updated information which is posted as it becomes available.
FEBRUARY 6 – HORTICULTURE VERIFICATION for the Youth Project Show will be held from 10 am to 12 noon in the Youth Building located on the fairgrounds at Jack Brooks Park. All horticulture entries must be brought to the Youth Building and will be verified and photographed by the YPS committee on this day during this time.
FEBRUARY 7 & 21 - LAMB CLINIC – sponsored by the GCF&R Lamb Committee, 11 am in the Livestock Pavilion on the fairgrounds at Jack Brooks Park.
FEBRUARY 13 & 27 – GOAT CLINIC – sponsored by the GCF&R Goat Committee, 9 am in the Livestock Pavilion on the fairgrounds at Jack Brooks Park. Scales will be open from 9am to 12 noon.
FEBRUARY 13 & 27 – STEER & HEIFER CLINIC – sponsored by Colts 4H and the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo, 1 pm in the Livestock Pavilion on the fairgrounds at Jack Brooks Park. If you have any questions, please contact Tim Pantalion at 409-682-5739. LARGE ANIMAL SCALES will be open for weighing steer and heifer projects from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
FEBRUARY 17 – STUDENT VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION for Senior Citizens Day, Special Kids Day and Schools Day. Volunteers must be in grades 5 – 12 and must attend one volunteer orientation meeting either Wednesday, February 17 or Tuesday, February 23 at 6:30 pm in the Youth Building. Applications must be signed by the student volunteer and by their parent/guardian. The completed application must be turned in to the chairperson before you leave the meeting. ABSOLUTELY NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
FEBRUARY 19 – LAS VEGAS NIGHT – the fun begins at 7 pm in the Ed Pickett Memorial Hall. All parents are encouraged to join us for fun, food, games and prizes. Hope to see you there!

REMINDER: RULES ARE READY for Rodeo Queen Contest, Fair King & Queen Contests, Junior Mr. & Miss 4H Contest, and the Little Mr. & Miss 4H Contest. Come by the fair office or visit our website to get your copy today! Also, get your copy of the 2010 YOUTH PROJECT SHOW Rules. Great prizes will be awarded to the winners!
